Re: Combining OSC with Red only (Ha) from L-extreme

Thank you very much, Ivo, for your comprehensive reply. :bow-yellow: I had lost sight of that fact that we were not talking about an approach that would produce documentary results. I also forgot the luminance would be entirely synthetic. I'll add the technique to the others in the Compose Mod...

Re: Combining OSC with Red only (Ha) from L-extreme

Thanks Ivo - a great help. Just to get it totally clear in my head... Whenever you import a file that contains multiple channels, it will extract any relevant channel (for example, it will extract the red channel if you are loading it as "red", etc.). In the case of importing an RGB file for your lu...

Re: Combining OSC with Red only (Ha) from L-extreme

Hi Ivo, I'm trying to capture the technique you describe here and I have a few questions. - If I just load an OSC/DSLR file into the luminance channel (and nothing into R,G or B) and set 'Luminance, Color' to 'L + Synthetic L from R(2xG)B, Mono (Mono from OSC/DSLR)' does it extract the RGB from the ...

Spatially Variant PSF Deconvolution (SVDecon) Module Use (v1.8)

Here are some notes relating to using this module. It is not the only way to use the module and experimentation is encouraged. They relate to StarTools version 1.8.506alpha and later. Please let me know if anyone sees any errors or has any additional advice they think helpful. I will update this pos...

Re: Masks query

Hi Lawrence, I've updated the 'Mask Module Use notes here and included a 'Special Techniques' entry under 'Creating a complex mask using multiple Brush Modes and Auto Star Masks' You can also use 'Open' to load a previously saved mask and then add to that. Let me know if the notes miss the point or ...

Re: Utility to replay StarTools sessions

Hi Mike, Good to hear it is working well for you with StarTools 1.7. I have been working on StarTools v1.8.506alpha since it came out - and making progress. However, the new modules use some new UI elements which mean it will take some time to iron out the issues that this brings. I'm looking for te...

Re: Simulate RGB image with SHO filters

Hi Ivo,

When we create the S+H+O and S+H we should set the 'Luminance, Color' to 'L + Synthetic L from RGB, Mono'
So we save the results as a mono file.
Is that right?
