Re: IC 1805 Heart Nebula, HOO RGB
Thanks Mike. Stacked L-Extreme / UV-IR data separately in DSS with reference file, processed each stack separately at same BIN/Crop and used Layer to add 'Color of FG' to the HOO image for star color. Good question on the blue/teal and have been looking for answers so perfect timing. When I hit the ...

Re: NGC 2403 LRGBHa
Thanks for the details Mike. Yep, imaging from Bortle 8/9 is not easy but half the fun turning out nice images despite the heavy LP.
Your recent Andromeda was superb as well.
I really like what ST 1.9 is putting out too; big improvements in final image processing quality.
Cheers,
Nick

Re: NGC 2403 LRGBHa
Nice image Mike, and great color balance! What size scope did you use? I'm looking for a new target to image but my 81mm /382mm FL APO may be too small for this galaxy. When you Bin, do you use the 35% preset in the module? What camera do you use at what resolution? With my QHY 168C OSC (Image sizes...

Re: RC BlurXterminator …. Any comments ?
This is a thread touching on my personal perspective of capturing and presenting astro photos to people, many who have no idea what is involved, what is real and what is not. I only use ST for astro processing and getting deeper and deeper into understanding how it works, using advanced functions an...

Re: First narrowband image not very impressive!
Hi Brendan, Narrowband processing is certainly a learning curve and a rewarding one once you get the hang of it, especially with ST v1.8 awesome features. On the topic of Topaz Denoise, I also used it a while back and was initially excited with the "improvement" until I started to look real close at...

Re: Using StarNet++ with StarTools on linear data
almcl looks pretty good! My main concern with this fiddling around is "breaking the chain" of ST Tracking Engine by flipping in and out with the data; I see the real value of ST by giving it pristine Linear data, un-touched except for stacking, and letting the "flow" work its magic until the end wh...

Re: Using StarNet++ with StarTools on linear data
I generally avoid separating stars and background as try and keep images as 'documentary' as possible, even when playing with messy bortle 8 data. I have played with Starnet ++ v1 to see how it fares (mixed results). Curious if anyone has seen this post on AB this morning, as Starnet ++ v2 is out an...

Re: Messier 82 (UMa)
Beautiful result, nicely done! I do have a question Ivo or others may answer as I notice the stars here exhibit the same "blue hat" color on the top left of center I get on my broadband images and curious if this is due to the L-Pro (I use it extensively as well), heavy light pollution (I am in Bort...
