StarTools Zoom Session
I am a member of the Sonora Desert Astro Imagers and on Saturday will be hosting a Zoom session for our group on StarTools. These are all very seasoned imagers and processors. Up to now, we've been using PixInsight and Photoshop. The group is eager to see how StarTools solves various classic problem...

Re: Compose module freeze
I see the same behavior with all versions of 1.7, using an iMac running the most recent version of Catalina.

The Very Rare IC 5210
This text and image were uploaded to Astrobin this morning. Here is the link: https://www.astrobin.com/iwj0iy/?nc=user ******************** The Very Rare IC 5201 I have found only a few other images of IC 5201 published by amateurs: this is by far the most detailed one. IC 5201 is a barred spiral wi...

The World's Tiniest Bug
Hi Ivo, I may have uncovered something in version 1.7.422. I first ran the Sharp module at the large scale. Then I ran it at the small scale. When the sharpening window presented itself, the box for "Before" was greyed out. If I adjusted "Amount", the box was illuminated. I believe this happened to ...

Re: Looking for insight on histograms
StarTools, however, gives you precise control over them in modules like AutoDev (Shadow Linearity) and Contrast (Dark Anomaly Headroom), allowing you to define how this specific part of the histogram gets "compressed" to make room in the dynamic range for more "interesting" detail (e.g. pixels a th...

Looking for insight on histograms
I am a long term user of Pixinsight and Astrobin. But these days I'm creating some interesting comparisons between PixInsight and StarTools, anticipating that I'll probably switch to StarTools for post processing. Many differences between the two program have come to light. In this post, I'd like to...

The Small Magellanic Cloud
I hope the StarTools community doesn't mind my steady uploading of images to the gallery. The pandemic creates a lot of opportunities to work on image processing! I uploaded the SMC to Astrobin last November. I just finished a new version this morning, using PixInsight for Pre and StarTools for Post...

Re: Completed Modules Indicator
I seem to have the same problem. Of course, the log file has a ton of information, but some kind of history, within the GUI itself, would be welcome.
