Re: Another Soul - badly framed

But the real trouble was i just could not see it, not even stretched a 3 minutes subs...so i got confused, and desoriented, i only rotated my camera because i assumed the object stood out verticaly not horizontaly. And left it as it was, since i only expected hardly 2 hours of clear sky. Afterwards...

Thanks for pointing out, Ron! :)

Re: Another Soul - badly framed

I think this already came out nice, taking into account it’s been only about three hours of light! :) Too bad that framing went wrong :( Do you use plate solving with APT? I switched from APT to KStars / EKOS with my new mount so I don’t know how it works with APT. If the center of the solved target...

Re: NGC 1333

Thanks for your detailed answer, Stefan! I don't have a definite answer. I guess it might be two or more factors contributing to the problems. I work in quality control and often experienced that a root cause analysis is quite easy if you have a single factor contributing but it gets very complicate...

Re: NGC 1333

Hi Stefan, sorry for the late post to this thread - I will soon reply to your Heart & Soul Nebula. :) I reread this thread and I wonder if there's a conclusion regarding the initial point you described - the unexpected problem with your dataset. Are the other stacks (PI and Siril) significant better...

Re: NGC 1333

To put things in full context, Ivo's quote also includes - StarTools is renowned for its Color Constancy feature, rendering colours in objects regardless of how the luminance data was stretched, the reasoning being that colours in outer space don't magically change depending on how we stretch our i...

Re: NGC 1333

Ivo's busy. Yeah, we already noted that ;-) maybe when time is right to get to it. And that's exactly what I meant :) Perhaps it would already be helpful if every one of us documents his data sets having problems and their respective ST logs. When later on there is a new beta version, we all could ...

Re: NGC 1333

duo NB data of mine. And here SVD worked great Maybe there are issues with the PSFs of my broadband stars  Ron's data is also dual NB I can at least contribute that there is no problem with broadband stars in general. I recently added some data to my Iris and took an image of the Ghost and i...

Re: NGC 1333

Another fantastic image, Stefan! :) And wow - 20 hours integration time :bow-yellow: Great to hear that you (and Mike) found a solution for this mysterious problem. I'm curious if you will ever find out what went wrong  Correlation Filtering is a mysterious thing, too ;) Most times it makes t...

Re: StarTools 1.9 Beta

I didn't realize finishing the new multi-lingual was still an open item too. Oh, not to be misunderstood ... 99.99 percent of the work is finished. There are only some few missing translations due to ongoing work on SVDecon and some fixed texts which we discovered too late, texts in progress bars e...
