Re: Imaging with mono and colour camera for one image
Ivo Frame mask in APT is a tool for aligning two sessions (nights or after flip) where you click on stars on a previous nights image (it produces a small circle) and then move alignment until the circles are on the correct stars on a live view image. By adding Ha to L. What I meant was adding mono(w...

Re: Imaging with mono and colour camera for one image
Ivo thanks for the reply. I just need to get my head around this. The total process. Does this sound right? 1 - Luminance with mono cam (with or without ha filter) 2 - Frame mask an image 3 - Match Telescope view to Luminance image/mask using OSC camera 4 - Stack the two sets separately, Edit 4a- Us...

Imaging with mono and colour camera for one image
I have a Zwo ASI183mm and also the mc version. I want to combine Luminance from the mono (with or without Ha filter) with colour data from the colour version of the camera. My thoughts are seperate images processedand then blend, or using compose to load the data from both images and then process. W...

Re: Preserving details in difficult Iris
A bit late on this but it seems the 533 has a similar issue to the 294. ZWO are correct do not use bias frames as it seems the bias is not stable on the sensor (if the same issue as 294), use Flats and Dark Flats, and be very careful to match them, plus Dark frames. On the 294 it is suggested using ...

Re: StarTools 1.6 Final, 1.7 Alpha w/GPU acceleration
I attached the log file with the original post...the artifact was like ringing with another ring in 4 separate pieces outside it. I do struggle a little with decon. I will try again! I can't quite see that artifact in the image you attached, however it sounds like an overexposing star may not have ...

Re: StarTools 1.6 Final, 1.7 Alpha w/GPU acceleration
Hi Ivo Just trying out 1.7 Tried deconvolution and got some odd ring effects with some stars. See attachments, tried again and got an odd smaller ring artifact (which I have had with 1.6). Is moffat the default PSF? Error diffusion = when you pree help you get Regularization that mentions a default ...

Cygnus Loop RASA and Optolong L-eNhance
Cygnus Loop with RASA 8, Zwo ASI071MC Pro, Optolong L-eNhance, 158 X 40" exposures, gain 95, -5C. Darks/Bias. No flats, No guiding. Moon 80% in Bortle 3. I stacked using Siril-ic after disappointing results with DSS ( the colour seemed to disappear) Any criticism on processing welcome, I am slowly g...

Re: Stitching mosaic taken with OSC/tri band filter
Hi David, Apologies for the slight delay (released 1.6, 1.7 alpha, today). You will either want to create the mosaic beforehand as one big linear dataset (or 3 big linear dataset channels), OR create the mosaic out of the individually, (roughly identically) composited/processed images afterwards. F...

Stitching mosaic taken with OSC/tri band filter
Hi I am in the middle of imaging the Cygnus Loop, RASA 8, ASI071MC, Optolong L-enHance filter during full moon. I am in a Bortle 3 area but I enjoy experimenting and am hoping the Optolong filter will enable me to lose less imaging nights due to the moon. I understand (slight exaggeration) loading t...
