Re: Trouble saving final image

Ivo, I'm glad you asked, because I have been trying to save 3 different file, each numerous times, in the last 24 hours and no luck! I was wondering about the dialog. when it comes up I can only name it and specify where I want it saved. No place for kind of file. Then a dialog appears saying: "File...

Re: M51 Hubble data

Steve, Thanks so much for detailing what you did! I'm sure I will return to this log in the future in my learning journey. I doubt my computer could handle such large files, but I really appreciate what you have done here. An image where individual stars in a far off galaxy can be resolved is also i...

Re: star mask extra information

"-- Color Final color calibration. What we're looking for is a good continuum of star temperatures (red->orange->yellow->white->blue). Typically, a galaxy has a yellow core (older stars) and a purplish/blue ring (younger stars and HII regions) However, here we see some issues with the data. It appea...

Re: Trouble saving final image

Hello Ivo, Thanks for responding. I wasn't able to get anywhere with the permissions idea. That just may be me... The strange thing is that most times, although I do not get an error message or anything to indicate the file isn't being saved, the file never materializes, but sometimes (about 20%) it...

M-42 with Running Man

Here's a new image I have been working on, and would love comments and ideas of how to process it differently. I did not attempt to bring out the Trapezium with this image, and did not take additional frames to attempt this. I used my inexpensive Orion short tube 80 in order to get a wider frame to ...

Trouble saving final image

Recently I have had trouble saving Tiff files when done processing. Everything says they are being saved, but when I look for the saved file, its not there. Maybe this is my computer and not startools, but I havent seen this with other apps. I cant seem to save every time I try to docs in Mac 10.68,...

Re: Another M-82 with Supernova

Wow, Ivo! Thanks! I thought it was pretty good, but its very encouraging to hear that from you. For whatever reason I am not really clear about, there appeared to me to be much less noise in this file than in my M-77 file, and yet I used about the same methodology and camera settings. Perhaps, the t...

Another M-82 with Supernova

M-82c 2-1-14 39X150 1600 C-8.jpg Thought I would submit a first image to this Gallery. This image of M-82 with Supernova was created from 39X150 sec. light frames, and 44 Darks, ISO 1600, Canon 60Da, C-8 scope, unguided Orion Atlas mount; stacked in Nebulosity, and processed in StarTools. Frames we...
