Re: Newby having hard time with M13
Nico I took a shot at this, and I may have taken a couple of wrong steps, but really quickly, I just cropped a bit and binned, and did a wipe with increased corner aggression then launched the color module. Didnt do anything else cause I just wanted to see what I could get fast. Am I on the right tr...

NGC 6384
this was a tough one. NGC 6384. I don't see this imaged all that much. I may work on this some more. http://astrob.in/104807/0/ NGC 6384 is a barred spiral galaxy some 150,000 light-years across, located some 80 million light-years away in the constellation of Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer. It is sp...

Re: How to handle bad quality source?
Well now that the master has showed his work, I will refrain from trying to do a sub-par job compared to Ivo. But Yeah, you've got a decent image there, especially for only your second try. And good suggestions to help in future pics.

Hi Animaal
could you post us a link to your data in maybe dropbox so some of us could take a try at processing it to see what we come up with

Re: M82 before and after the supernova
Considering some estimates of the total cost of Hubble so far to be in the $6 to $8 billion range, those of us with substantially more modest investments are doing prettttty goood!!

Re: M106
Hi Lex you did a good job with your image. I like the first version best, but both are good. I use a AP reducer on my Meade 12. Judging by your field of view, I'm guessing you are not using a reducer on your C11, unless you cropped a bit, or your camera makes the difference. Either way, thats a nice...
Re: M106
thanks Ivo I sometimes struggle to get a color balance I like, I tweek it a lot. Also, usually I process the image on my work desktop computer. Then when I view it on my laptop, it looks different. This is especially true of the background. In this image, I used the life module just a bit, and on th...
