Re: Looking for some help

Martin, thank you for your input, I have been fighting this issue for some time. I don't know if I've responded correctly to your reply, but I hope I have. I am a stroke victim, so I don't always do things correctly when on this and other Boards. Some details on your capture would help …., Scope Tak...

Looking for some help

I have this image of the Lagoon Nebula, it isn't that good, but it might be better if I could get rid of 1000s of dim stars in the background. Any help will be appreciated, and thanks in advance for your input. I hope there is an easy fix, so I can fix all the other problems present in the image. Re...

Re: DSS vs Siril vs ASTAP

Carles, I am probably the least knowledgeable person responding to your question about Siril. I have used Siril since I began this hobby several years ago. I to get a yellowish cast when I take a stack from Siril and begin to process it in ST. There are many factors which will cause this with light ...

Ivo,

I just want to say that I'm a happy StarTools user. I'll be downloading the latest alpha, and giving it a try.
Thanks for your continued development efforts, your Software is a joy to use compared to the other products with similar capabilities.

Regards,
Troy

Re: 1.8 closed alpha feedback

Ivo and those interested Because I only use data from a OSC, my work pattern may miss things others are noticing. That said, I haven't had any hangs/crashes in the hours I've spent using the program. These are the items I've encountered thus far under Ubuntu 20.04. 1. I can’t double click the execut...

Re: [WANTED] 1.8 alpha test subjects!

Okay, I do have the NVIDIA X Server installed , I think that gives me a driver for the GPU. What I see when I try to start it from the Command line is this: ./StarTools-Linux64-GPU: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenCL.so.1 : cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I thi...

Re: [WANTED] 1.8 alpha test subjects!

I don't think this should go here, but I'm willing to be a tester. Perhaps that's a good thing because I had a stroke several years ago, and am no longer the brightest bulb on the tree. If I can make it run, anyone can. ;) BUT I have a new machine, ordered with a GPU but I can't get the Linux 64 GPU...

Re: Startools in the future

Thank you Ivo, I'll take your advice as I've been doing okay with my desktop without a GPU, but it is getting old and I do want to replace it.
By the way, I really am glad I became a StarTools user and customer.
Regards,
Troy

Re: Startools in the future

Many improvements directly relate to increases in available processing power or storage. In the last 10 years, up until ~3 years ago, we have generally seen a stagnation in CPU power and storage capacities increases (for various reasons). It appears things have now picked up again and we are seeing...
