Color calibration on M33

My first processing of M33 was not that good, very purple ish... I thought it was mainly because of my uncalibrated monitor, but I'm still having issues after reprocessing it. Here's my latest result , which is much better than the original but still not where I'd like it to be. I tried to use the M...

Re: M33 - Triangulum Galaxy

You got decent detail (M33 is pretty faint!), though I'm puzzled by the purple. What did you use to stack? Got some more acquisition details for us? Hi, This was taken with a non modified Canon 60D. 18 x 8 minutes plus some darks and bias, no flats. Although I've always had a bit of trouble getting...

Re: M33 - Triangulum Galaxy

I need a new monitor... I just realized how purple the image looks. My home monitor showed it much more blue than purple -_-

M33 - Triangulum Galaxy

This still is far from good, but with only 2.4h of integration and no cooled DSLR (it was 70F/21C at the coldest of the night...) I don't think I can get much better. This was my first time using my off-axis guider vs my guidescope. http://astrob.in/203166/0/rawthumb/gallery/get.jpg [/url] Here was ...

Re: M101 troubles - very grainy

I only just noticed the banding after you mentioned it, it's the first time I see it on any of my images, not sure what causes that.

Regardless the image you came up with looks much better I think than what I did I think, do you remember what steps you did took to get that result?

Thanks!

M101 troubles - very grainy

Hi all! I processed my subs from Saturday and the end result is very grainy. Acquisition details: - 45 x 240s @ ISO 1600 on a Canond 60D - 15 Darks - 18 Bias No flats cause I haven't figured out how to make them yet, so I mostly just crop the image a lot to get rid of vignetting for now. I'm can def...

Re: Lovejoy troubles...

Thank you, somehow I'm just really not happy with the results haha, maybe it's seeing all the other beautiful ones around with similar data. Those were 10 x 90seconds... I did however take 40 subs, I could try to stack them all... wasn't sure that would make a big difference. I also have 2x 300 seco...

Re: Lovejoy troubles...

Thanks for trying!

yeah I often get color on the overall, I tried a mask during Color on just the comet, but it should be slightly green by default. My raw file are in general slightly greenish on the head, I don't understand why it all disappears...

Lovejoy troubles...

Hey all, So I'm really having issues getting the data out of my comet... I've got a 10x 90 second and 10 darks subs @ISO 800 taken with a Canon 60D, stacked in DSS in Standard + Comet mode, took me ages for it to stack properly but it seems good now. However, once in startools I'm really having trou...
