Re: Star Mask, Star halos & noise
Hi Ivo, Just for the sake of experimentation, I created the RGB in PI, which include DBE, Background calibration & color calibration, then I did the rest of the processing in StarTools & I was able to get star colors in the red, blue & yellow ranges. I still like the processing more in StarTools as ...

Re: Star Mask, Star halos & noise
Hi Ivo, Thanks a lot for the tips. I was able to get rid of those red/blue pixels, and for the 3-5 stubborn ones using RGB Blur, and then I used the 'Heal' module at the very end for the few left, as you suggested. Regarding the star colors, I tried to apply a star mask around the halos since the RG...

Re: Star Mask, Star halos & noise
Hi Ivo, I've process the heart nebular several times, to try to get close to your processing example and learn the process. But I've not been able to get rid of those blue & red pixels around the image, I noticed they were already in the RGB even after de-noise the color. One more question, why don'...

HOLY KAO!!!! That has to be one of the most beautiful images that I've ever seen in Astrophotography....OMG!!! How much I wish I could process like you my friend :bow-yellow: ...I know it takes practice and StarTools makes it easier than any other tools I have tried, still, I'm going to ...

Re: Star Mask, Star halos & noise
Hi Ivo, Now, I realize how important is the tracking function to the whole thing. Thank you. The luminance (AKA Ha) I shared earlier was processed using the 'tracking' function, but the RGB and RGB+Ha did not have the tracking function. The tighten function was applied to the HaRGB, not to the Lumin...

Re: Star Mask, Star halos & noise
Hi Ivo, Thanks for the quick reply. You're awesome. As you suggested, here is my data... I created the Luminance following your CN steps: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8971416/Challenge/L_integration_CR_ST2.tiff Then, I created this RGB following your CN steps: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8971416/Challenge/Ne...

Re: Ability to create Previews...
Hi Ivo, Thanks for the quick reply, good stuff! Regarding star masks, I meant that when I do a star mask, the mask itself around the star looks like a square instead of circle and I believe that affect star halos or when contrast adjustments around the star, it looks like it's leaving a square-looki...

Ability to create Previews...
Hi, I would love to have the ability to create smaller preview windows, (eventually everywhere) but specially in processor intensive steps like Life, Wipe, Sharp, Denoise, & HDR. By the way, it works awesome in the deconvolution module. Also, I would love to see the ability to create star masks that...
