StarTools

Hi all,

I am trying to do mosaic, and when using the only free soft I know "Image Composite Editor", as I export the Tiff file, StarTools doesn't let me open it.
I have to open it in Nebulosity, then save it as 16bit Tiff file, and then yes, StarTools can open it...

Any idea on why this happen? An alternative free software for this?

Perhaps the answer is to process each part of the mosaic in StarTools first, then import the StarTools images into Microsoft's Image Composite editor?

I find ICE can deal with this very well, particularly adjusting background levels.

I could try that, just thought that stitching it first (after crop and wipe in startools) would be better to manipulate/stretch both panels exactly the same amount rather than doing one by one.
But will try it out, thank you for the tip ^^
