It was really nice, and I think came out a lot better than mine did. Well done! I would have liked to reveal more of the "burst" on either side of M82, but I don't think I got my NB Accent quite right, or I messed up that channel during my Wipe. But you got a nice puff of Holmberg XI, some little faint fuzzies, that little double star (perceptually, unsure if true double) just off M81, and best of all, those cool cat scratches that M81 has.

I don't think I did it justice, but it was fun and may help me on a re-do of my own M81. Among a few other flaws, I noticed afterwards that I left a few magenta-leaning stars across the field, but didn't go back to start over again. That reminds me I need to put the calibrator on my new monitor still.

I wonder if if might be useful to have a separate, user selectable, purple/green cap module, or if that would just be a mess and it needs to remain in color. You know, as a "break glass in case of magenta emergency" tool at the end.

I used Uncal1 in Wipe due to the scattered color splotches in the background, as well as the gridding that was found in the Ha, though I'm not sure I got the Ha file as flat as I would have liked. Same thing happened with my own Ha.

Pretty standard workflow for me otherwise. Maybe less stretched than Stefan's, and I might have taken too much out of M81's outer bands. Sharp mask was touched up as I've been wanting to include more bright stars so as to not boost them up. The NB Accent reversal mask was also custom, and that does start involving some "decision time" in trying to figure out what is real Ha and what is continuum Ha. :confusion-shrug:

SVD seemed to work quite nicely (.544) on your data, with quite a few samples and just a wee bump of deringing to 60.

Can provide log too if anyone has interest in that.

Thanks Mike , really nice job!

You, just like Stefan, pulled out quite some more Ha regions...
If you can yes please provide the log so i can study the NBaccent settings, just like i did with Stefan's settings. They are quite helpfull to me, as in the past i did not use the Nbaccent module much and certainly not for doing things like this.

Off course i used my 130 mm APO for this cause of the bigger FL. It is my biggest scope. It seem to perform quite well. AFAIK...

Ok, redid the whole thing and now using ST v1,9. Seems the result is simply better. (I have a 1,8 version on Astrobin)

This is what i got after keeping a close eye to Stefan's settings in the NBaccent module...
