Narrowband Bicolor

Post by prabhakar »

I've captured few hrs of Ha and OIII data (Rosette Nebula) and have stacked the image set using MaximDL.
Now i have two stacked files one for Ha and other OIII.

Can someone tell me how i should go about processing this in startools, can i create synthetic green channel for these two in startools?
Any help will be useful ..

thanks

LRGB module interpolates missing channels, wich i think is what you want.

I think you will like ti read this about sithetic luminance channel, even if I'm not sure it is useful with missing channels

Thanks, i read that posting about HA,R,G,B processing.
It's still not clear if i should load Ha as Red channel and OIII as Blue channel and then create green?
Do i also need to create synthetic luminance from RGB ?
How i wish a tutorial exist to explain this first step :-)

In your case I'd load Ha to R and try to load OIII in G or B channel to see what it looks.

Here's the first version of Rosette nebula, this is bicolor 9hrs exposure with Ha(Red) and OIII(Blue) filters over many nights from home last month.
Processing looks bit soft on the edges and not color corrected. I'm trying to create synthetic green to reproduce in hubble palette.
Has anyone tried hubble palette here?
